Microsoft Volume Licensing

Microsoft Volume Licensing is subject to a minimum of five licenses. Once you have set up your Microsoft Volume Licensing login - you can manage all of your Microsoft licenses using the Microsoft Volume Licensing portal.

Microsoft Perpetual License

Microsoft perpetual license is a one-off purchase that provides use of the Microsoft product for its lifetime under Microsoft's product lifecycle schedule.

Examples include a Microsoft Office licence - Microsoft Windows Server License or Microsoft Exchange Server licensing.

Per user licenses can also be included, such as Microsoft Windows Server CAL license or Microsoft Exchange license for users.

Microsoft Open License

Microsoft Open License allows customers to purchase multiple Microsoft licenses. The Microsoft Open license portal or Microsoft Open License service centre is actually the Microsoft Volume Licensing portal as per below.

Microsoft Open Value subscription allows purchase of licenses on an annual subscription rather than perpetual basis. Microsoft Open Value subscription education and Microsoft Open Charity pricing is very generous.

Microsoft Open license for academic customers is actually licensed simply based on the quantity of faculty and not per PC. Microsoft Open License management is therefore very straightforward.

Many Microsoft products can be licensed with a Microsoft Open Agreement - from a Microsoft Office standard open license to Microsoft Windows Server licensing.
